“The style is eternal” is the name given to the exhibition that opens this week in the UK, a beautiful tribute to the work and life of the famous French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent.
The exhibition, is housed at The Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle,
a magnificent French-style chateau purpose-built as a museum in the late 19th century in the small market town of Barnard Castle in County Durham.
“Yves Saint Laurent: Style is Eternal” will highlight the famous French fashion designer’s vision and its lasting influence on modern womenswear. The show will feature 50 of his most iconic garments, including pieces from his Russian Collection, the Mondrian dresses and the Tuxedo.
Many of these garments have stood the test of time and remain current today. After all, as Saint Laurent himself once said: “Fashion fades, style is eternal.”
A great choice for anyone who is in the Uk, to make a cultural and chic ride!
- “Yves Saint Laurent: Style is Eternal” will run at The Bowes Museum from July 11 – October 25. It is sponsored by the UK department store Fenwick.
