My sweet Paris # 1

Since I moved to London, I have become more and more nostalgic about my time in Paris…

I have always loved this city and regard my time there as a genuine love affair.

The Seine… The Eiffel Tower, the gardens, the cafes and the museums… places I never really fully appreciated before – now have a new appeal…but luckily I continue to travel and work there quite often.

So I have decided to make a small list of my favourite places in the city: “My Sweet Paris”.

  • L’Hôtel

     13 Rue des Beaux Arts  –  75006

“L’Hôtel” is perfect for a drink or even better for dinner among friends. This place is a well-kept secret and the atmosphere is both mysterious and relaxing (even on a Saturday night!).

First of all, I love thinking about the fact that “L’Hôtel” was a residence of Queen Margot, transformed into her quarters during the 19th century… I love taking in the decadent and luxurious surroundings of the period.

Keep in mind that this hotel is where Oscar Wilde resided until the end of his days… and regular guests included Grace Kelly, Frank Sinatra, Elizabeth Taylor and Salvador Dali.

  • Le Parc Monceau

       Metro Monceau  –  75008

  • Le Musée Nissin de Camondo

       63 Rue de Monceau  –  75008

A stroll through Parc Monceau is essential.  I always lived near this park and used to jog there… Just reminiscing about it makes me sad. For me, it’s one of the most beautiful gardens in Paris, surround by hotels with facades that are so beautiful they take your breath away.

This park is full of history and it is also here, right at the end, where you can find one of my favourite museums – the Nissin de Camondo – there, you can discover the life of a famous banker who was also one of the most well-known art collectors of the 18th century.

  • La Pagode de Paris

      48  Rue de Courcelles   –  75008

Are you ready to walk a little further? Just a few minutes away, you will come face to face with some fantastic architecture right in the heart of Paris… “La Pagode”: an exhibition theatre for asian art…

  • La Terrasse de l’Hôtel Raphael

       17 Avenue Kléber   –   75116

Finally… Just a little further, rest your feet and have a coffee while admiring an impressive view of the city.

Hôtel Raphael’s terrace!

I promise you that this is a unique place will certainly leave you some truly magical memories.

Forget your worries, just enjoy the moment and take in your surroundings and the delightful experience of gazing across the wonderful city of light…
