I’m always was impressed when a designer surpasses their creativity in a universe of clothes design and is capable of extending their talent to other projects and ideas.
One person who has this extraordinary talent is the marvellous Hedi Slimane who has been the Creative Director at Saint Laurent since 2012. He has revealed another facet of his talent – the new mega store Saint Laurent in Milan that he has entirely designed. Slimane defines style of the boutique’s interior “modern art deco”.
The store is a transposition of various techniques and materials typical of the modern French style: the expression of simplicity and quality of materials, with the encounter between white and black marble contrasting with elegant purity of the metal, the brightness of the mirrors, the geometric structures revealed rigor in pure lines and transparent furniture, creating a luxurious space for customers.
A sort of modern art gallery, which features a huge central staircase with vertical slats mirrored carefully positioned that project the clothes as if they were true work of art
The store Saint Laurent is in the space that previously housed the Hermès boutique and has a full range feminine and masculine clothing and accessories, plus a selection of permanent items considered by Slimane as timeless – including the leather jacket, the blazer “tuxedo” and other items carefully selected.
A refined and modern space, considered as one of the 10 most beautiful boutiques in the world, certainly must-visit for anyone in Milan.
