In the heart of the “Golden Triangle” of Milan, discreetly hidden away in the Gallarati Palazzo Scotti, in a beautiful 18th century townhouse built by a princely family, you will find one of the most beautiful shops in Italy: “Bottega Veneta Home”. Bottega Veneta has opened this store entirely dedicated to furniture and interior design, in an atmosphere evoking the comfort, privacy, and refinement of a rich private residence.
If the facade is discreet, your breath is taken away with a magnificently sophisticated interior dedicated exclusively to stylish home furnishings in a setting, fit for royalty.
With a modest sales surface of only 205m2, this artistic achievement was made possible by the talented Tomas Maier, the creative director of the brand. “This can be a challenge to pull off, but here it came together quite naturally,” he says. Maier’s goal for this new space reflects the quality and master craftsmanship that Bottega is known for and is totally consistent with the brand’s philosophy in respecting its past while adapting it for contemporary style.
The interiors are reminiscent of another “grande” époque, comprising a series of double-height rooms with original frescoes by Italian Masters Carlo Innocenzo Carlone and Giovanni Battista Tiepolo.
Maier grouped minimalist oak bookcases with sofas that were produced in collaboration with the Italian firm Poltrona Frau. The dining table topped with richly veined Tunisian marble is a work of such beauty, it will be soon be whisked away to form the centre piece of some great mansion. There are smoky wineglasses, delicate cutlery and tableware and other accessories embellished with the brand’s signature “intrecciato” woven pattern.
Yet again, Bottega Veneta had managed to combine art and commerce by partnering with companies who share the brand’s values of exceptional quality, service and exclusivity, as well as a deep respect for the particular culture and sensibility of this splendid location
A visit to this store is a must. The spirit of the palazzo’s aristocratic former owners is honoured with such a beautiful retail experience.
