Good news for fans of Balenciaga with the opening of its new store in the heart of the Spanish capital. Its young creative director Alexander Wang continues to amaze me with his designs and artistic skill.
Since Alexander Wang took over the artistic direction in December 2012, the French luxury brand comes up with a “sporty chic” signature look- more innovative than ever…
In Madrid, the new store – all in marble – created by designer Ryan Korban (a friend from Wang’s) shows off this philosophy.
And the opening of this flagship store in Madrid is not a simple coincidence; it is the city where Spanish founder Cristobal Balenciaga opened his first boutique in 1933. With an area of 1,500-square-foot space, Wang gives us a store inspired by the elegance of its Parisian headquarters (at 10 Avenue George V) along with minimalism peculiar designer. This way the Creative Director balances Wang’s own style with the house’s codes.
