The famous London art gallery “Saatchi” in Chelsea is organising a very interesting retrospective called « Mademoiselle Privé », on the life and achievements of Gabrielle CHANEL. The exhibition also highlights some very interesting facts about her personal lifestyle and draws us into the world of this charismatic fashion personality. It also introduces us to how Karl Lagerfeld has brought Gabrielle CHANEL’s work to new heights.
At the heart of this retrospective, you will find a selection of couture pieces, some very symbolic, that show the superstitious side of Gabrielle Chanel, where various items like pearls, wheat, black and white colours , camellias, star constellations all represent intimate lucky charms to bring success. A lot of very successful people have these habits and CHANEL was no exception.
The exhibition follows the birth and journey of the most fashionable perfume in the world : Chanel No. 5 as well as the possibility to admire the”Diamond Jewellery” collection created in 1932 for mademoiselle Chanel and recently reinterpreted by Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel Haute Couture fall-Winter 2015-2016 fashion show.
There are also portraits of celebrities that Karl Lagerfeld photographed just for this exhibition. The photo shoot includes Kristen Stewart, Lily-Rose Depp, Vanessa Paradis, Keira Knightley, Stella Tennant and Julianne Moore…
