Sartore: A heritage of footwear tradition

Set firmly in the world of luxury, Sartore is known for its refined expertise and inimitable style in creating superb footwear, using only the very best materials and natural leathers. The brand’s beautiful collections are sober, elegant and authentic, but always in a most contemporary and design inspired realisation.

The new Parisian Sartore boutique in Rue Faubourg Saint Honoré is an extension of the brand: where you experience a chic and creative atmosphere with specially designated and bespoke furniture that adds a special refinement to this special retail emporium. Clever lighting sublimate shoes and accessories such as silk scarves, noble skin key rings of the brand. A walnut staircase with a wrought iron banister, adorned with brass rings leads to the basement where the atmosphere recalls monasteries. In the vaulted cellar with natural stone walls, you will admire the Campana Brothers’ gigantic sofa.

The second lounge welcomes a sculptural seat created by Spanish designer Jaime Hayon. The two lounge areas are surrounded by walnut podiums bathing in a soft light, which is mirrored on the stones. A delightfully old- world setting for very special occasions: when it is time to choose the ideal pair of shoes. In a space dedicated to elegance and dignity.

It all began in the 1930s with a small shoe and repair shop in Breil-sur-Roya, in the countryside just inland from Nice. Two decades later in 1959, the son, Paul Sartore with his wife Marcelle set up their own factory where their first iconic collection of moccasins were born.

Today, it is Catherine Sartore, the third generation of the family that closely keeps this family heritage in continuous evolution, respecting the brands commitment to quality and innovation. “Each collection is a tribute to my father that we have always perceived as a visionary,” explains Catherine.

Catherine, the heir and also the stylist of the marque, ingeniously uses precious skins such as crocodile, reptile, lizard and ostrich for boots and very chic shoes, using a unique technique invented by Paul Sartore with a mat-coating on the usually varnished reptiles: their ultimate sign of authenticity. True to its manufacturing methods of a traditional shoemaker, Sartore rightly can claim that their handmade footwear is not only beautiful but comfortable, strong durable and of the highest quality – so rare these days …

Faithful to the purity and elegance of its products, the brand has loyal clients all over the world, especially for their incredible boots, moccasins and sandals …

Designs and creations are characterised with that special touch of humour, of attention to detail in a discreet and elegance way are loved by true amateurs that only want the best and that truly appreciate fine footwear lovingly made by expert and dedicated craftsmen. A magical mix, modern and chic for both women and men.

Only found and commercialized in the most selective outlets around the world and in the most prestigious Parisian department stores such as Bon Marché or Galeries Lafayette, they are a testament of a heritage of excellence whose future is assured and protected by the Sartore family. Sartore symbolises a spirit, an attitude and a philosophy.
